The big day for wrestling fans is almost upon us. WrestleMania is often the Christmas day of Wrestling, and this year feels bigger and better than ever before. Maybe it's the fresh feel of the event, the stink of Vince McMahon no where near the event or something all together different. Whatever the case may be, opinions will be made, and right now I plan on giving mine on how I see the Show of Shows 2024 going down. The list for each night has been released, so I have that to go off of on that part, but I will be putting the matches in the order of how I would book the night, but I will not be holding a score on that front. But in my review after the fact I will share how well the predictions on match results go. So buckle up and lets do it buttercup.
WRESTLEMANIA XL (40) Predictions - Night 1
SIX PACK LADDER MATCH FOR THE WWE UNDISPUTED TAG TEAM TITLES - Okay this one is going to be a weird one because I truly think this is the perfect time to split the titles back into two. But before I get to that I guess there is some talk from Dumbass Meltzer about who is in the match and who isn't. Well we have Judgement Day (the champs), Awesome Truth, New Catch Republic (Dunne & Bates), DIY, New Day (didn't know they were back and together), and A-Town Down Under. The easy choice is to just leave the titles on Judgement Day and that's what I would say if they were staying as one title, but I don't have that in my crystal ball. You have the perfect comedy foil in R-Truth in this match, so you can easily have him climb up and grab the Raw Titles, and forget to grab the Smackdown titles, with Miz pulling his hair out. Meanwhile I can see Theory and Waller taking advantage of the mix up and grabbing the Smackdown Titles thus splitting the titles once more, like they should be. This also comes with the fact that Judgement Day is stale and does need a mix-up and this could light the match for that fire.
Winner(s) : Awesome Truth (Raw) & A-Town Down Under (Smackdown) ; New Champion(s)
DAMAGE CTRL (DAKOTA KAI, ASUKA, & KAIRI SANE) VS. BIANACA BELAIR, JADE CARGILL, & NAOMI) - This one is open and shut one. Uber rookie sensation Jade Cargill is making her real debut in this match. They will win. It's a shame since I love Dakota Kai so much, hopefully they can do more with her instead of being the one who can speak English for Damage CTRL.
Winner(s) : Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP - GUNTHER (c) VS. SAMI ZAYN - This is going to be the hardest one to choose a winner. We have two paths, and it all depends on which one they are planning to go with from here. Gunther loses, and that means his main event push will soon start and most likely will be the odds on pick to win the 2024 Men's Money in the Bank Briefcase. This also means Zayn gets his consolation prize to having the greatest two year span of his whole career starting with Johnny Knoxville and ending with the IC Title. The other side of things is Gunther continuing his reign of terror and they find someone else to dethrone Gunther down the line. Then you have the aspect of Chad Gable out there as well. This is why I am actually going with Sami on this one, Gable turns heel and challenges Sami for a while, and Gunther moves on and up.
Winner : Sami Zayn; New Champion
JEY USO VS. JIMMY USO - A brother vs. brother fight yet again at WrestleMania? Yep and no it will not live up to Hart vs. Hart. Going to get that out of the way right away. Pretty sure only one brother is getting a push right now and if you ask which one, it's probably the one they call "Main Event". Jey also needs to avenge the loss at SummerSlam that was due to his brother anyways. So pretty easy pick form here.
Winner : "Main Event" Jey Uso
WWE WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - RHEA RIPLEY (c) VS. BECKY LYNCH - Two of the top women in WWE face off and the fans will go...mild. The build to this one has been really lack-luster and most people would rather Liv Morgan or hell Tiffany Stratton in this spot instead. I do agree that Becky Lynch has been over-exposed and needs a break from the main event scene, so others can ascend the ladder built by "The Man". So onto this match, I see Rhea retaining. She's the real leader in Judgement Day and it will shine through here and into the future. Title will be retained.
Winner : Rhea Ripley ; Title Retained.
DRAGON LEE & REY MYSTERIO VS. SANTOS ESCOBAR & DOMINIK MYSTERIO - I really could care less about this match. This match was thrown together and I am doing the same for a prediction of this match. Dirty Dom wins and maybe sets up a rubber match with Daddy Rey down the road. Maybe be a Hair vs. Career Match I don't know.
Winner : Santos Escobar & Dominic Mysterio
THE ROCK & ROMAN REIGNS VS. CODY RHODES & SETH ROLLINS - If this doesn't main event the night, something is truly wrong with booking. This is the main and biggest story going into the this year's event so having a two part to the story is something we have yet to see so far. There are so many ways this could go, but with rumors of Cena or Steve Austin appearing to neutralize The Rock and the rest of the Bloodline. It also goes towards Night 2 but I will go into those matches when they come up. I can definitely see this becoming an all out chaotic brawl with returns, run-ins and everything in between. Also I don't see Seth turning on Cody, that would be as a bad as WCW circa 1999 with their swerves bro.
Winner : Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins
NIGHT 2 Predictions
WWE UNITED STATES CHAMIPONSHIP - LOGAN PAUL (c) VS. KEVIN OWENS VS. RANDY ORTON - Got to start off hot and bring in the hottest thing in WWE going right now to start the night. No I am not talking about that trashy youtuber Logan Paul, I am talking about the Legendary Viper Randy Orton. Alright all kidding aside, this match should be very good, and I can definitely see Kevin Owens going heel possibly and start a real feud with Orton. That would be a money feud, but if they don't want to switch Kevin then, I can see Orton and Paul going back and forth for a feud. Orton would have a lot to teach Paul in and out of the ring, and Paul is a heat magnet. But I see Paul holding onto the title on this night and moving on to Orton or a different feud all together.
Winner : Logan Paul ; Title Retained
LA KNIGHT VS. AJ STYLES - This one is a well built rivalry, however I was still hoping for the LA Knight Logan Paul match that were heard from whispers on the internet, but here we are. AJ is looking jacked as hell but this is almost a lose/lose at this moment. Styles needs to regain momentum from his return, and Knight needs to regain his momentum that he has definitely lost since losing to Reigns in Saudi Arabia. But Knight is the one the fans want the most at this point so I really think he needs the win more and should get it.
Winner : LA Knight
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - SETH "FREAKIN'" ROLLINS (c) VS. DREW MCINTYRE - This matchup all comes down to one thing, has or will Drew re-sign with WWE? But I think has or will, so I got Drew winning this one. It is time to put the World title on Drew in front of a crowd. He got his first one at COVID-Mania, and now has his chance, plus he is as hot as ever as a heel. Pull the trigger and give him the gold. But nothing against Seth, he is my favorite and he has held this company up in Reign's sporadic scheduling, and he should get his flowers, but time to move on to the next thing and give Seth's back a rest from holding it up on his back this whole year.
Winner : Drew McIntyre ; New Champion
WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP - IYO SKY (c) VS. BAYLEY - Speaking of taking a part of the company on their backs, we get to Bayley. Ever since she returned a couple years ago, she has been the whipping girl and the fall girl for the division. This is too her time to shine and win her second title. Damage CTRL has done nothing but beat her down and it has been one sided, which wasn't a great way to get to this match but they can make it right by having the right girl win. Do it Hunter, do it.
Winner : Bayley ; New Champion
PHILADELPHIA STREET FIGHT 6 MAN TAG MATCH : THE PRIDE (BOBBY LASHLEY, MONTEZ FORD, & ANGELO DAWKINS) VS. THE LAST TESTAMENT (KARRION KROSS, AKAM, & REZAR) - I truly want to care about this match, I simply don't. At first I was excited for the pairing of Kross and AOP, but it has been a fizzle and a fart in church so far. Get Kross higher on the card like it looked like when he first came back 2 summers ago. Lashley on the other hand has been muddled since he came to Smackdown. Kind of sucks to be on a show when there is no World Title on your show. But I guess if I have to put a horse in this race, I am going with Kross and his boys.
Winner : The Last Testament
UNDISPUTED WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP - ROMAN REIGNS (c) VS. CODY RHODES - Well here we are folks, the main event of WrestleMania Night 2...again. I mean with that sentiment alone, it should be a slam dunk that Cody "finishes his story". You can't push a guy to the moon two straight years just for him to lose to the guy who barely shows up. I was really wanting Punk to win the Rumble, just because that one felt like a slam dunk, so maybe that's why they went the other way with that. Before his injury he was going to win the Chamber and face Seth but we must wait on that one I hope. I mean I could be wrong and the heels win Night 1, and the Final Boss Rocky actually costs Reigns the title is possible, as the huge twist, but god I hope that doesn't happen. Rock has thrown himself into too much in this company. He single-handedly ruined the main event of WrestleMania 27, because he had to get his match the next year with Cena over. If you are strapping the rocket to Cody's back you need Rock to stay the hell away from this match. But he is on the BOD and probably has it set that he is holding the title over both Rhodes and Reigns dead bodies sigh.
Winner : Cody Rhodes ; New Champion
