Top 40 WrestleMania Moments - # 6 The Heist of the Century

Money in the Bank has been a staple in WWE since 2005, when the first briefcase was captured by Edge at WrestleMania 21. Since then once or twice a year, and more currently with women involved, superstars have used the briefcase to sky rocket their careers to new heights. But only once in WrestleMania history has it been cashed in, and boy oh boy was it a moment to behold. Let's jump into the story of the match that helped create the moment.

The year was 2015, and the main event of WrestleMania was set with Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the first time. For Reigns, it was a year too late, and the bloom had fallen off the rose as the fans had already started to hate the future Head of the Table. Lesnar, coming off a huge moment the year before, had suplex city'ed John Cena into oblivion at SummerSlam to win his first World Title since resigning with the WWE two years earlier. The build was trash and no one really cared at all. I mean the biggest part of the build was a tug-o-war over the title belt. But the night came and the match was just...happening. Reigns was bleeding, the fans were counting German Suplexes, and most were not happy with what they were being given. Income a Savior, no not CM Punk, but instead Seth Rollins music blared, the fans woke up and blew the roof off. Seth ran as fast as he could, and entered the match, making it a Triple Threat match. Lesnar would get Seth up for a F5, but Reigns would spear Lesnar out of his gourd. Seth would take the diversion to Curb Stomp the Big Dog, and capture the World Title for the first time.

Once again I have some personal feelings intertwined. Tyler Black was a wrestler for MTV's short-lived Wrestling Society X. He quickly became a wrestler that I saw all the potential in. Tyler Black would go to ROH and win titles over there until he was signed to developmental deal with WWE. Tyler Black would be re-christened as Seth Rollins and he has become all the superstar I had ever thought he could. He is a wrestler I have always supported and him being on this list twice for one night is amazing, but well earned. On this night with this moment the Architect was born. Seth deserves it and I hope he can make more moments before it is all said and done. Maybe even at WrestleMania XL!! But we are done with 6 and only 5 left and oh boy we got some big ones left, so Stay Tuned!!
