We have arrived at the Top 10 of our list and it is a doozy folks. We come to our last and greatest return at The Show of Shows. I don't want to say I had any bias on this one but I did grow up loving The Hardy Boyz, and Matt Hardy has been the one wrestler I have followed from the beginning of my fandom. But I do believe that many others agree with me on this one. This story begins with the departures of Matt and Jeff from WWE around 2009 and 2010. Jeff left after his feud with CM Punk to eventually sign with TNA. Matt would finish up the following year after a mini-feud with The Chosen One Drew McIntyre. Matt would also end up in TNA. Those runs would not be the greatest for either man and "problems" would arise, but I am not here about that. Then comes the change. You know what I am referring to. Matt would start acting differently, and eventually would become...BROKEN. This led to the greatest storyline of 2016-17. However TNA Officials thought they owned the Broken Matt moniker, and legal action would ruin things. Long story short, the Hardyz settled and moved on to conquer Tag Team wrestling around the world.
The Hardyz would eventually win the ROH Tag Team Titles, and were set with a Ladder War rematch with the Young Bucks. The Bucks would win the match and take the titles back, leaving the Hardyz with a new division to pursue. The next day at WrestleMania, before the Raw Tag Team Title Ladder Match, hosts of the show The New Day would come out. They came to announce that a 4th team was entering the match. At first they would act as though they were the ones coming down the ramp, a familiar thumping theme song took over and the arena erupted. The Hardy Boyz had come home after almost 7 years away from the company that started their careers. Matt and Jeff would come down to the ring and win the match and the Titles. Yeah I don't really have much on the actual match since no one has really cared about that part. The moment was the return and it was marvelous.
This is one of those moments that wasn't ruined by the internet, so it made that much bigger of an impact. I mean they had just killed themselves the night before and many thought that they were done making history that weekend. Nope, they show up and in my opinion make the biggest moment of the night, and make the biggest return at a WrestleMania. Don't forget, I will be making a predictions post and a breakdown post of the ups and downs of WrestleMania weekend. So have a great one and come on back for # 9 tomorrow. Stay Tuned!!
